Paintings also at Sackets Harbor Art Gallery, Sackets Harbor and ARTS ON THE SQUARE , 52 Public Square, Watertown NY. My passion is plein air painting. I organized Plein Air Painters Thousand Islands Region (PAPTIR) in 2009. No membership fees, no officers, no meetings, just birds of a feather get together. I organize an event every two weeks May thru October when the snow birds are here and go out after that with myself or a year round core group.Typically there are four to eight participants. In 2010 I organized two plein air contests in Clayton NY with the Thousand Islands Art Center and one in Watertown with North Country Arts Council. Organizing one in Watertown NCAC Aug 12,13 2001 and helping with Sackets Harbor AANnY event July 15,16, 17 My favorite place to take workshops in life drawing /painting is St Lawerence College, Brockville Ontario. A watercolor, "Between Poses", developed from a charcoal study at a workshop was a finalist in a national watercolor magazine "Creative Challenge Contest" in December 2008 and subsequently won first place watercolor in the 2009 AANNY Sackets Harbor Show. In September 2010 my Watercolor "Peppers-Byward Market, Ottawa" won second place in the NCAC 61st annual Juried Show, Watertown NY.
