artist comments: Artist Statement: I was raised on a dairy farm in the St. Lawrence River valley of Northern New York, at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains, and I have spent most of my life exploring, appreciating, and living in the midst of a vast display of nature. Therefore, it is no surprise that my art also explores the natural world. Though my main artistic expression involves acrylic paintings, I am also a crafter and likewise incorporate inspiration from the natural world into the crafts I create. The style of my art is a direct result of my fascination with the intricate designs in everything from grand landscapes and skyscapes, to the detailed stripes and speckles of a rainbow trout. The designs and patterns are displayed so perfectly and with such profound creativity, it is difficult for me to imagine the grand and delicate creations in our midst are an accident. I am spiritually sensitized by these natural wonders and this spiritual connection directly influences my personal style, no matter what I am creating. Ultimately, I desire to express my fascination with these inspiring natural designs in my paintings and crafts, as boldly as the medium will allow, while staying true to both my spirituality as well as my own unique style of vivid color and intricate pattern.
